Greg, are you using the color fast 862? if so that is the problem, if you want the jet black you should use the "Regular Nylon" 862. Regards, Todd

Only in Specifications, not really in power and action. Your best match would probably be the "color series" in CRB in the 701MH or 761MH. regards, Todd

Chris, the ISP705 was an addition to the Inshore lineup that we were having manufactured for us by Lamiglas for many years. This specific model was added for Fluke fishing in NY and NJ. The material was Intermediate modulus (IM700) 43 million. Regards, Todd

Yes Mo, whether an internal mandrel or external mold it's common to refer to as "tooling".

Rich, these blanks were developed for the Polish & Russian market around 2005. The demand from that area were more for Ex-Fast type actions and the Lamiglas Magnum Taper actions were the desired action. There were probably 8 or 10 models made and the cosmetics were different. And yes they were developed for a Steelhead type of fishery. Regards, Todd

Murray, while we don't offer any classes in Canada we do try to locate a few each year that would be within a few hours of major metropolitan areas. Next year it would be Syracuse, NY and Boston, MA. here is a link to our class listing.

I agree with Dennis, Use the rod and see what happens. Tom has the best method of removing this bend.

Thomas, one other thing to keep in mind would be the American Tackle Viper blanks. These were very similar HM blank with Texalium material over the butts. But in all honesty I get requests for these actions and without the tooling that Lamiglas has it would be impossible to duplicate.

Mo, you are correct in that there is a very slight difference in the modulus of the two blanks. The design is slightly different as well. Taper has a greater difference in the feel between the two. We have discussed the possibility of a native but I have been working on new Uni-directional S-Glass models as I feel that there is a void for some quality glass development in the market. Regard

Mo, being as the designs of both were mine I believe you will find the F663-3-MHX the closest available. Regards, Todd

Jeff, I believe that the rod you are referring to was an "N386" and then there should have been a "MS", or MHS or MHC or MHCT. I'm not sure there is anyone left there that knows the history and these should easily matched up to the G-1000 series Salmon/Steel blanks. Regards, Todd

Chuck, I like Don cannot speak about the Bushido as I have never used one. But I do know the differences in the materials and design and if you are familiar with say St. Croix products it would be like a SCII vs SCIV with the SCIV being the MHX.

Mike, we regularly setup guys looking at doing this technique. Most end up using a ST1023 or ST1083 MHX blank more Mod/Fast action with a little more length but plenty of power to handle these fish. Regards, Todd

I also believe Mr. Moody should receive the benefit of the doubt considering our solar calculator wouldn't work inside the building.

Mandrels will have a huge range in price, primarily dependent upon the largest OD of the steel, steel type and tempering. I have paid $30.00 for a mandrel for a Fly Tip and $450.00 for a 15' Surf Mandrel.

Travis, Most Pattern Layup blank building equipment in the US is manufactured by Century Design out of San Diego. And most mandrels are ground at Lynco Grinding mandrels are centerless ground not turned. Regards, Todd

Actually it was the LP862 that was used in the Skeet Reese XMG DS rod. But pretty much what Spencer has stated rounds up the differences. regards, Todd
