I have been using it for years in my conventional reels. Great stuff. We use it for fixing squeaky components in cars and trucks . I got a sponsor so to speak that supplies it .

Had a friend drop off some rods for repair that he had previously repaired and was not happy with the way this one performed after the repair. I think I can fix the concern he is having. Never a dull moment here in NJ.

Made from a scrape piece maple plywood from a cabinet maker. Guides on the bottom and the side keep it true to the saw table. Set you block on at the angle you want to cut and clamp down. Turn on the saw and slide the sled forward. Perfect straight cut every time. Repeatable results every time. Took about 2 hours and 3 beers to complete.

Funny thing is I never had a finish concern. Its what you do during and after the finish application that makes the difference.Love working with foam and glue.

There was no shortage of color at the NERBs booth in High Point although two heavy hitters Mike Joyce and Sean Endres were noticeably absent.

Got the idea from the commercially available ones and took it a step further with the cork grips and conventional reel. Will make a cedar plug on the lathe to match one of these days.

Billy will hate me when I say this is all Maderia. Dont go blowin it up to analyze because this was done quick as an experiment and not spaced, packed or finished well.

Here is a rod that I painted about 8 months ago and weeks later did a butt wrap and applied finish. After sitting a while the finish actually pulled off the blank and the wrap slid towards it center due to the thread tension.Lack of proper surface prep was discovered after I cut the wrap off.

This is one of Joe Douglas`s fill a bag with reel seats for $10.00 specials at the show.Point of purchasing was to experiment with painting them.I ruined 5 before I hit on something. It is nicer in person than in the photo.Work goes on into this to perfect the process. The nut is where I am not satisfied but think if I adjust the spray gun a little it may improve.
