If you can get by with a blank that's 8' you should look at the Rodgeeks X-Comp 805 or 806, you really don't want a fast blank for that heavy of a load. SCIV is the equivalent to the Legend Tournament Bass blanks, the SCII is the old Premier line up of rods.

It wasn't an assumption, no rod manufacturer is going to share that information with an average rod builder, much less their competition.

I'm not sure what units of measurement they use, but they are able test with bare blank, handle and blank or complete rods. It's several sensors that will pick up vibrations in multiple places on the rod, can't remember all

You may want to look at the Batson walleye blanks, the IMMWS76ML-TC is a really great all around and should be light enough to throw light hair jigs.

<p>6 rods with a few acrylic inserts and skeleton reel seats from Batson Enterprises and a couple of Fuji 17mm reel seats. The grips are a bit of everything lacewood and birchbark, walnut and birchbark, cedar burl as well.&nbsp;</p>

18. Demo Rods
<p>I've built a few rods for Demonstration and personal use, but didn't realize that I had that many built up lol. There is a little bit of everything in the bunch, a few Matagi real seats and inserts, carbon fiber sleeves and eva and cork as well. The blanks are a little bit of everything, Batsons, St Croix and a couple of unkown blanks.</p>

<p>The grip is done with Vinyl Ester resin instead of Epoxy. The finish is sanded and polished instead of using epoxy.&nbsp;</p>

20. Mad Swirl Grip

22. St Croix Rod
Doing a little different segmented turning. The grip is made with Purple Heart and Aluminum in a hanging web pattern. The reel seat insert is an acrylic pen blank. The wrap and weave were done by a friend Dan Makauskas.

A little different take on an elliptical, I used a vulcanized spacer material and burl cork. The reel seat is an Alps with elk antler insert.

I've got three different grip patterns here. Top is a spiral brick, spider web and bottom a herringbone chevron all in cork.

The grip is made with bulletin board cork, discarded gift cards, burl and burnt cork. The pattern is a Chevron, Diamond Hybrid.

29. Wooden Grips
I made a couple of grips for a friend top is a hanging web in white oak and Padauk. Second in from the top and the bottom is half ellipticals in maple, yellow heart and walnut. The middle is not finished yet, but made with yellow heart, cherry and walnut. The bottom is a burl from reelseatblanks.com.
