Thanks guys. Put an order in today with Amer. Tac. And Mo was able to help me out really well. Great customer service and got what I was needing. Now just waiting on Fed Ex.

It will be a casting rod setup. Mainly for light Texas rig applications. Will be using a Lews custom light reel on it. Probably 12-14lb flouro. What I’m having some issue with is guide spacing. Would replicating spacing from say a Duckett micro magic be sufficient as I know wit micros you will need more of them. Thanks for all the replies. Main goal is also as light as possible.

I have an X-Ray MB-736 blank I would like to setup with a set of micro guides. Possibly looking at the Titan Artus micros, but also open to suggestions. What combination of sizing and spacing is everyone using for micros?

Anyone that are using carbon fiber grips, say from NFC. Do you finish them with epoxy or just leave them raw? If you finish them, what are you using?

Again, I’m new to all of this. But wouldn’t when rolling the rod to find the spine, and when it actually jumps to the stop point, wouldn’t this in theory be the weakest orientation? Reason my thinking is behind this, is because I can feel the amount of resistance change when the flop occurs. I do agree that position is where the rod would want to bend the most easily.

First off, thanks to everyone for the warm welcomes and all of the interesting responses. I’ve been setting on a couple of blanks debating on which way to start off with these and from the conclusion I have drawn I think I may actually try one each way. They are identical blanks so maybe by doing this I’ll be able to see what style is actually right or wrong for me.

I’ve seen several people talk of placing guides on straightest axis of blank vs finding the spine. What are the pros and cons of each and why one way or another? Thanks
