Hi Jim, I love building surf rods Many guides that will suit your need at American Tackle like the Ti Forged. I have the MW50s on my 11ft surf running 50lb and 60lb mono leader. They are great, pass a wind-on FG knot no worries. As for spacings there are basically a couple ways you could do it. First off mount the grips and seat to where you want and is comfortable for you. Hi mate, TiForged Double foot guides or MW50s with the 12 running guides also handle 60lb braid. Find them on the American Tackle Company site. For sizing, you need to know a few more things. Michael, AT have many blanks to choose from. Is he chasing 2 or 1pc ? Bushido Spinning 6'8 SP68/4-8 Bushido 2pc 7'2 SP72 2/4-8 MATRIX 7'0 2PC 4 -10LB - MA SP7 2/4-10 or slightly heavier MATRIX MA SJ7/8-14. Its Fast Med-light. Cheers Bucky
