I have a Garcia Mitchell 400 I have stripped to the metal and was wondering what would be the best way to protect, clearcoat and seal it. I want to keep the bare metal look and use it as my main fishing reel. Thank you for any recommendations.

I do opologize. I was originally wondering about the blank. It has turned hazy and yellow but after I've cleaned the blank back as best as possible I was going to attempt to put some ghost wraps on it. I do appreciate the feedback. I've had some time gaps online due to a hernia I've been dealing with. Thank you

Has any had any experience in re-coloring a plastic tackle box they wouldn't mind sharing? I have an older one I've acquired that's pretty faded and was thinking of trying to dye the color in rather than paint it but have not tried either and was hoping for some experienced opinions on the matter. It by the way is one of the fold out shelf/tray style ones... Thank you.

That's what I figured. I very much want to use it as both. I never have a nice anything I'm not willing to use at least from time to time. Was still hoping someone may have come across a problem like this and knew something I didn't. I still have the weekend and am open to suggestions. Thank you for your time and input

I have a reel problem. Lol. I have a really nice Garcia Mitchell 488 that I had bought off @#$%& and the base of the case where the reel mounts to the rod was broken when I received it. I have scheduled for a return but really would rather keep the reel if anyone knows of any way to repair or fix it without it looking bad. I don't think it's repairable but the reel has been completely restored an

Does anyone know if you can remove the plastic anti-reverse switch on a García Mitchell 302? I'm trying to strip and repaint the reel and have run into a bit of a barricade...

I'm going to try a set of the Pacific Bays and a Microwave with the Air Vortex. I think they will function well and look good with my early projects and are still alot cheaper than some I've looked at with mixed reviews. Thank you for the advice.

I appreciate it. I haven't really had an opportunity to look at the library much as I've been very busy at work but I will take a look and probably go ahead and order a set or two from your suggestions and I have one in particular I want to throw lures with I was thinking about putting the microwave on if you think they would work well for that. I've kinda gotten alittle anxious and ready to se

Also I have seen the Microwave carp and surf guides and was hoping to get some feed back on that. I didn't know if that could be a possible solution to my problem. Not sure I'm convinced they would look quite right with the rod set-ups I am working on but I have never seen them in person. Again, thank you.

I am very new to this and have redone several different rods and am ready to add some rod guides but I need to try and keep my costs down as I'm still kind of in a trial stage at the rebuilding process and have already invested quite a bit at this point. Most of my rods are from about 6' 8" to 12'. Most of the guides I have taken off have been larger 2 foot older chrome guides but are in ver

I haven't decided yet about the top of the rod, just leaving work. What would be an easy to use thread protectant and epoxy for me to use? Any I may be able to go to a local store and buy?

I left the upperside of the rod unwrapped so I would have more options for clear coat. I would really like to put a good protective clear coat on it since my painted fade is sprayed on rather thin. After that I figured I could move on to the guides and so on... I don't want to lose much of the action of the rod but I was kinda hoping maybe I could do the lower side of the rod alittle different

I have a graphite rod that I sanded and painted lightly with a paint and primer mixed spray paint with a multicolored fade and have wrapped the butt end and have not done anything else to. This is my very first rod and I don't know what kind of clear coats, color protectants or anything to use. I would be VERY APPRECIATIVE of some experienced help!! I used poly thread and I believe the spray p
