What would be my best source for learning how to do more intricate wraps. I limited to diamonds. I have seen some diagrams, however, they seem to be written for the experienced.
Any input would be much appreciated

All good ideas… I have a lathe and a mill at my disposal…I’ll have to play with some of these ideas. Thanks

Hello,
I’ve done some wrapping in the past with a book etc and decided about 6 months ago to buy a crb power wrapped and also bought the fancy crb pro stands too. The problem I have is with the chuck. I really don’t like it as it’s not smooth and doesn’t really grip the project. As I’m working, if I forget to go back and readjust, the end of the rod falls out of the chuck (usually right when I’m

When doing say a diamond pattern just above the grip, i lock the threads down with a D size wrap at the top and the bottom but because that wrap is going over the diamond, its very difficult to lay the threads next to each other. Are there any tips to doing this? Im playing with the idea of a very simple locking wrap, epoxy coat to level things out and then do my final wraps.
Thanks

My experience with white thread is that it washes out easy when epoxy is applied, ie looses its brightness and becomes slightly translucent. What can be done to get a vivid white to make a nice contrast between other colors?
Thank you

I have the crb rod turning lathe and their pro roller stands. Im having trouble keeping the rod in the chuck with the roller stands. The wheels riding on the taper tend to pull the rod out of the chuck. What might i be doing wrong?
Thanks

Thank you, the spacing is about 2” (i dont know why or dont have a reason) on a surf rod so the blank is in the vicinity of .75”

I have an ongoing problem. I typically make simple diamonds on my base wraps but i always have difficulty keeping the threads tight together. Are there any tricks? Tension?
Thanks

I have a penn 6500ss and 7500ss for an 11 ft surf rod 20-40lb 2 to 6 oz lure. Which reel would you go with? This would be for long island surf fishing, plugs, spoons etc for stripers, blues and whatever else may grab.
I keep thinking the 7500 may get heavy quick. My last rod was a similar but lighter rod with a 6500.
Thank you

Is a size 22 Fuji reel seat sufficient for a penn 7500 on a surf rod?
