Just a quick question. I bought a reel from a guy and during the transaction he showed me a Canyon style stand up rod built by a well known builder. He said he had him wrap the entire blank to the tip. I asked him why and he said he wanted something unique. Is this a thing?

Building my first jigging rod. Cape cod 425 casting blank with Alps hxn guides. Conventional wrap with 3 reduction and 4 guides(10). Target is NE bluefin so size could be all over the place. Tip specs are 12 tube with 10 ring. Any suggestions? Concerned with strength

I looking at build jigging rods for BFT in Cape Cod Bay. Reels will be Talica 20’s Blanks are Thrasher TRJ 6.0 200-325 Would the Alps HXN be a good
choice for this? If it’s not obvious I’m a complete newbie. These will be my 3rd and forth build.
