The American Tackle Bushido SJ68/6-12 makes a perfect tube jig rod, and works great for Smallmouth Bass. It is a Medium Light -Fast action blank, and offers great bang for the buck.

Try one of the American Tackle Nanophene ultra load blanks. Its only 7 foot long, light and very strong, with a moderate action, but great sensitivity. Look at the Bushido BNUL701ML-150 for starts.

I use a single foot fly guide, using a Dremel to dress up the foot. I hold the guide in place with a small glow in the dark plastic bead, then press the guide in place, pinching the guide and bead onto the rod tip. I then mix some epoxy with a glow in the dark powder, and put a small amount of the epoxy mix over the bead while it turns. This will form a bead of glow epoxy over the bead/guide,
