Hi guys, for a newbie,and by hand, are there pros or cons wrapping guides with the thread coming up from the bottom while rotating the blank away from you or down from the top rotating the blank towards you ?? Is it just preference?

Hi all .. Ok , I built a casting rod , my first. I new in the beginning the blank might be a little soft for the application I wanted ( drop shot ) but built it any way . Hi all,, new builder here, only have a couple builds done .. What determines the size of the first and maybe second guide ( from the butt ) on a baitcaster ...
