Tony is right. I would shy away from color preserver for the very reason he sites. You won’t get the thread/rod bond you need especially on a rod that gets a lot of use and abuse. Go with a ColorLok or Fuji NOCP thread and it holds its color quite well. I would advise not using light colors on a dark colored blank

I’ve built a lot of grips following the guidance of Roger Sieders who has built rods for over 40 years. Check out FlexCoat’s website and look at his instructional videos. Use Flexcoat Rodbuilder’s glue and you won’t go wrong

A friend is looking to build a fly rod for his daughter and she wants a White rod. Does anyone have any suggestions on a manufacturer or source? He would prefer carbon fiber/graphite rather than fiberglass. Any help is appreciated. All of you have been quite helpful in the past. My thanks in advance

Sounds like a good solution and then to make it a four piece, add ferrules of some kind? Or are you suggesting to just have a one piece rod built as a fly rod?
Thanks

Thanks Spencer for tip on TFO. I will take a look. The fellow I’m building the for takes it on trips and needs a travel rod. I built him a 2 weight 4 piece a couple of years ago and he loves it. I used a Batson Revelation blank and 2 weight is as small as they make

I have a friend that is needing a 1 weight fly rod in a 6’ or 6’6” length. I’m having a difficult time finding a blank. I found a “zero weight “ fiberglass blank while poking around on the internet but can’t remember what sight it was on. Anyone know of a decent 1 weight blank?
