Ross, there are posts on the NEO MB 765 Here:
Also, I have build one and plan on getting another built in the near future. Here is what I wrote and my thoughts:

Thought I would post this in case you all didn't get the email. Glad I found the email in my spam folder, not sure why in spam never gone to spam before. "We are happy to share a flash sale with you! 65% OFF ON MOST BLANKS, 50% OFF ON GRIPS, 35% OFF Already aggressively prices LMX FLY and ICONOGLASS BLANKS!"
I couldn't resist and had to order some more X-rays.

I wanted to thank North Fork for their very timely fulfillment of my orders. I have made a few different orders this year, and the biggest order took less than three weeks. My latest order just came in and it took less than 10 days. I am very happy with the blanks too. Just wanted to put this out there. I have seen a lot of complaints about their shipping etc. I did a lot of research before I mad

Thanks for all the comments guys! As always gets me thinking. And I learn a lot. Well, after lots of thought and searching I decided on an ordered a North Fork CB 704-1 (IM LMX) . Hopefully, I made a good choice.

Thanks David, very good insight. I built 2 SJ-736 at 6' 9" with 8.5" handles. One I use for spinner baits, the other for topwater spook/chub baits. They work great for those lures as you say nice parabolic bend and keep them hooked up. Don't throw a jerkbait much but guessing they would work well for them too. And I agree with you I need one in a more moderate action. Guess I will have

David,
I mostly agree with you. My 3 MB-736's work great for TX rigs. I have 2 at 7' 1" and one at 6' 10". After my builds the action slowed down a bit, and I am very happy with that. I am trying to get away from fast (upper AA's over 75) and if can help it I do not want any x fast. Hope I explaining this somewhat correct, still trying to learn CCS. Anyway, my biggest problem for a few

Thomas, My 7" 1" NEO is heck of a rod. But, I tried a KVD 1.0 crank that is 1/4oz and It cast it pretty well, but felt light. Need something a little smaller less powerful and more accurate casting for those smaller baits. I thought about testing my 7' 1" MB-736's some more for it, maybe drop

For my next future build, I am looking for an X-Ray for small cranks, like 1/4 oz squarebills, baby 1-minus and the like. Anyone using the MB733 for this? Like to stay with Xray blanks. The SJ 703 looks interesting also, but looking for mod-fast, fast and NOT EXTRA fast. Thanks.

I built the NEO and cut it down to 7' 1" with a 9" handle. Before cutting blank weighed in at 3.30oz. After the cut the blank weighed in at 2.98oz. Using the static load testing method I went with 10 guides. I used a Fuji Ecsm reel seat. After the build it weighed in at 4.48oz.
Testing: Using 12 fluorocarbon, 17lb mono. Lightest lure using 12lb fluorocarbon I tried was a KVD 1.0 cra

Thomas is right about it being more powerful but not by much. It has a faster action too. It will cast 1/4oz fine, but feel

Thomas, I am eager to hear how the test goes. You cut the blank any? I have been building MB 736's and SJ 736. Have not had time to do more checking into the NEO ye

Thanks for the replies guys! Guess the weird color pattern is normal from what you guys say. So, I will not bother with contacting NFC about it.

Just got 2 of these in along with some more MB-736's. Doing the CCS on the NEO, this blank has lots of power and I can't determine AA on it. My scale weights it out to be 3.30 oz. Get the proper weight added for test puts it almost 90 deg. and tip section stays straight for like 4+ inches. Taper barely changes from the butt up to 2ft. Then it starts and quicker taper.
Anyone built one of these

Ok, so I followed all the instructions and check multiple times. I checked two manufactured bass rods that I have been fishing for the past 2 and 3 years.
Here are my results:
One is a casting 7' Heavy Xfast AA 73deg, 350 pennies/875grams
Other is casting 6' 9" Med Heavy Fast AA 75deg, 268 pennies/670grams
I built 3 rods from North Fork. Never checked CCS readings before building them

Ok, thanks. Yes I meant to say check action angle, poor wording saying measure action angle. Tip sits on the the small center point. That answers that question. And the pointer I mount on the guide side just behind the tip (tape it to rod near tip) so

Can it accurately measure Action on bass rods? If so, a couple of things: The straw or pointer I install near the tip of the rod under the tip top correct so it is horizontal with the rod? And not completely understanding exactly about the tip or pointer passing thru the protractor scale. As to exactly where it is to be held and where to measure the degrees off the rod? or pointer to the top of
