Herb, meant no disrespect and I knew I had come to the right place, Norman and the gang here have helped me tremendously. Sorry for the impatience fellows. Would this blank work for a dock shooter as well, and do you need to do anything different with the guides for a dock shooter. was reading an article on it and they were using St. Croix Avid X AXS69MLF, and were loving them. Norm what kind of

Hey guys, could someone recommend a good rod blank for a crappie rod, 6'6" and guide selection, I like Fuji and usually use 4.5 KB,KT runners , love Point Blank and have built all my rods ( 7) using them. just don't know about the best choices for lighter stuff, probably will see nothing but roadrunners and jigs in the 1/64- 1/8 range. Thank you in advance.

Hey Fellas, which blank would you choose for a baitcasting shakey head rod, typically 1/4 oz and finesse worms. I was thinking PB701MHF, thoughts. I have a spinning rod for this also but when fishing in the tidal rivers and in closer to all the cover, I am not as accurate with the spinning gear. Thank you.

Need Help, So last Friday I put a coat of finish over a decal on a rod I just built, temp in the garage was around 53 so I put the little heater that mudhole sells under the tent they sell and went to bed, sometime during the night we lost power, so I got one little dimple of a sag, and the finish was still tacky as of this Wednesday so I brought it in the house. Checked it today and the finish

I dont finish my checks, all aluminum, with a wrap in front of the check that is finished. I also finish the area between the checks on my split grip ( around 4 inches ) and place my rod decal their, put second coat after decal is placed. I also have a check at the front of reel seat followed with wrap, 3 inch space and another wrap and place my company label their, again the whole area gets fini

Yep doomed. Its great to feel how a rod should be built, wait until you get to use it, you will be amazed at the difference.

Anyone built a Point Blank for umbrella rigs, say the 2-3 oz range. Looks like a PB761XXHMF or PB761HM might be the ticket, I am open to suggestion from the experts on here. Thank you for any help as always. By the way i am so impressed with all of the Point Blanks I have built. PS: Don't tell my wife I have over $900 invested in each rod and reel combo. She will probably have me committed.

I would think the 20,10 & 5.5 would be fine. I would have the reel with correct line size and static test for placement of the stripper and reduction trane, may have to deviate a little from the KL suggestions, try to achieve the bullseye with the stripper and next two guides with choke guide being a little forward, like in the directions. i have found this to make a great casting rod. I have built all of my baitcasters using the 60,120 180 spiral and a RV6 stripper followed by 3 KB belly guides and the rest of the runners in KT, they all have size 5 KB & KT. Would there be any benefit to using a 5.5m following the stripper guide, this would be my 60 degree position. All of the rods seem to work extremely well as is, just wondering about the second double foot as Fuji sugge

Jim Ising last statement, " 100% Opinion Alert: A POINT Blank equipped with Titanium SiC or TORZITE® is a tool the likes of which you have never experienced before." I agree with this statement 100 %. I have had to change the way I cast because of these rods and guides. None to little backcast is required, I can literally start at 12 ocklock and outcast my fishing partner by 30 yard

I believe your right Jim, they are all incredible rods, I can cast a country mile with the flick of a wrist, and actually the easier you cast the farther it goes, I am sure the Diawa Steez reels play a part as well. And Norman has been a huge help to me, as well as everyone else, I feel like Norman took me under his wing and I am very grateful. I learned a great deal in a very short time, I am ve

Can someone tell me what the difference is in these two, in reading the description it sounds like they are the same, reason i am asking is I messed up and ordered the LRV6 for an upcoming build. Does the L mean Low. Thank you.

I used the 10 on my first point blank build, 60/120/180 spiral and the RV6 on the last six point blank builds, cant tell any difference performance wise, I just like the look of the RV. If your interested in the 60/120/180 build, @#$%& has some great info and tools on their website. One is a excell spreadsheet for guide spacing, I have not had to move any guides after static testing, and the othe

Yup, that is what I am using Titanium Torzite, including tiptop with Alps MVT reel seats, dimpled aluminum trim pieces and making my own cork handles.

Thanks Norman, just ordered it. I have caught fish on every rod I have built in the last 2 weeks, Man I love these rods and so do my fishing buddies that I have let try them. They all want one until I tell them I have over $300 just in materials.

Hey Fellows, what would be a good all around inexpensive( $75-100) choice for a baitcasting rod blank for pond fishing, 6' to 6'3" . Would like to build 2, one for plastics and one for spinnerbaits and topwaters. Would use 20LB braid with appropriate size leader in fluro and mono for topwater. Low profile reel, probably Diawa Tatula .Thank you.

Thanks guys, I will learn the FG knot, how much leader do you typically use on your spinning outfits. I try to keep the knot out of the reel on the baitcasters, and I did the same for the spinning, knowing its not really an issue with spinning gear. I used 4.5 guides on my spinning for the runners.

Fished with my Dropshot and shaky head rods yesterday for the first time since building them. For some reason the knot on the braid to leader does not want to come through the guides cleanly and is getting hung up on the drop shot rod , other rod is fine. Checked the guides, all good. Using the same braid and fluro on both rods, same reel, same knot ( Braid twister knot). IDK. had to end up remov
