Looking for some direction. I am in the process of fixing an old rod for a friend of mine. He uses this pole to cast heavier baits. A couple of the line guides have broken and need to be replaced. My question is.................. I was amazed at the looks and texture of the burl (red) corks when I applied the cork seal. Then it dried.... bummer..... lost all that texture and looks.
