I have build a few BFS rods on Phenix MF711, TX-713ML, NFC FW-701, Rainshadow Immortal IMMP70UL-TC for trout/crappy fishing. Phenix MF711-1 and NCF FW-701 are great for atomic 1/32oz jigs, trout magnets and Notorious jigs. TX-713ML is a little stiff, so I used it for 2g to 7g spoons. I should get the TX-712 instead. After covering with the carbon sleeve, I ended up getting uneven ends, and sometime the sleeve just popup from the form core after the cut. I am building a 5 wt rod from a Rainshadow Eternity blank. I mainly using it for trout. My question is what tip should I get? Standard or Large Loop? Hi Mark, Thanks for the advice. I would rather using KL-H guides instead of KW, because I don't stock any KW guide now. I certainly can't afford the expensive RV guides.
