Another tip of the hat to Batson for rock solid customer service. They proved their worthiness to me and I’m grateful for it.

Few weeks ago as my buddy and I decided to call it a day being the Walleye weren’t biting, I commented how slick an idea this hook keeper was on my new Denali Myriad rod. How something as simple as a hook keeper has been taken to the next level, absolutely fantastic functional concept. Wonder where they might’ve gotten this idea from ;-)

thanks Norman, I have absolutely no idea what you’ just said nor had I ever considered blanks could be such a science... Ive at least managed to gather you feel this newer version elite pro line might be a good option ;-) I’ll take your word for it... Thanks very much I was hoping others who possibly own both SCII and MHX elite pros might also chime in with their opinions. It’

Hello all, I currently have and have owned a 6'2" St Croix Eyecon Spinning in M/XF (Rated up to and including 5/8oz) and have gotten used to that rod for the past vertical jigging Walleye Season.. I use primarily 5/8 and once in awhile 3/4oz but its a little much for that rod... I'm in the process of wanting to build 2 more, one for myself and another for a friend who uses pretty much

Thanks Michael. I’ll have to email them to see what it’ll cost for shipping to Canada. Nice to be able to order everything from same place because shipping sure adds up but man I love to colour options think it would make a sharp looking rod. Thought maybe I’d try one spinning rod with the KR Concept amd Another with the Minima 4 match on another and see how the two compare. I like there’s in

Bill, I have been fishing with cork handles for over 50 years and to this day I couldn't agree more with you, Love cork.... Donald, I bet your handles looked super sharp in a birch motif, that's great...Appreciate the info!! Well I have this idea, and I'm about as green a rod builder as an unripened banana, but I was considering having RodGeeks paint me up one of their C4 blanks in 70:30 s

I'm sure this has been discussed many time over but I hoped someone could shed some light on sorting this out Say I wanted to go with an Aluminum Spinning reel seat in 17mm (bigger hands) and wanted to match say a Winn Split grip or Carbon Fibre, theres some grips that are flush on the ends while others have a reduction shoulder, pretty confusing to say the least, and component retailers don't

Building up a new rod and decided to go with the Fuji VSS reel seat and split grips and wondered to possibly put a twist and maybe it’s too big of twist but wondered if you guys have ever had any luck painting cork. I read one man first expoxied the cork, then sanded, primed and painted then to cover and protect he epoxied over top of the paint and he said it worked well but I wanted to see i

Agreed Spencer, I have younger buddies who Vertical Jig a Lot plus they have homes right along the river parkway but those guys prefer the longer 6’8”-7’ rods. I’ve tried down to 5’6” and well it wasn’t really it either, then the 6’3” St Croix Eyecon worked and much nicer length but I feel I can do better in the feel and sensitivity department by building custom. You guys have any experience

No problem Michael I sure have some knowledgeable guys helping me achieve my goals Well I debated over two days on getting either the Immortal or the Eternity blank and temptation and my never ending admiration and addiction to hi end toys (within reason) got the best of me so I got the 6’8” MF Eternity. I figured I’ve been an avid angler for all but the first 5yrs of my 58 and great componen

Hey Michael, the Eyecon I used last year is a 6'3" medium with Xfast tip. but its a spinning rod and id like to go to casting... what I'd like to improve on?? once I decide to build my own.....a longer butt section, 14" solid cork or harder material, and I have no use for a front grip, other than maybe something decorative to hide front of reel seat..I'm wondering what length blank I

Hello guys, first post here. Figured this would be the ideal place (hopefully) to ask about maybe buying a premade rod being it’s too close to season to be making my own rod now. I’ve been using and ok with the St Croix 6’3” medium Eyecon and then last spring I was talked into buying which turned out to be a very big letdown/disappointed with a Dobyn 7’ Fury I purchased (terrible single foote
