A fast action blank is not a good choice for a large swimbait rod. Mod Fast is a much better choice for a reaction strike type lure.

1/2&quot; mandrel on an adjustable collet chuck. have a 1/2&quot; brass bushing on the left and two 1/2&quot; bushings on the right. The one towards the right end overlaps the mandrel by half of the bushing length. Slide your tailstock with live center up against the bushing, lock in place and tighten the tailstock until the seat or grip doesn't turn or slip on the mandrel.
