I don't have a Renzetti but I do have a Taig and an Alps improved chuck.
Both my Taig chuck and the Alps use 3/4-16 threads however, one is left hand thread and one is right.

Definitely personal preference. If you can mock the reel onto the rod that will get you an idea of how long the butt needs to be and how long to make the grips.

I was in similar shoes as you at the end of last year.
Several of the vendors on the left hand side sell rod building kits. Mine came with a blank, all the components, and the basic things I need to build that rod, along with instructions. While I admit 3 months later I have upgraded many of my tools, it was great because it got me into the craft without overthinking things and spending a boa

I would start off with the GPS. The chart that came with the guides is just a generic chart for those guides. Using the GPS takes more factors into account such as the reel you are using and where it is on the blank.
Once you figure that out you can run some line through the guides and do a static deflection test, that will ultimately tell you if the guides are in the correct place.
