Not much experience on the Gen 1. I own the Gen 2’s in the 11’ 2-5 oz paired with an Akios 555 to use for Pompano fishing. I absolutely love it. By far my favorite surf rods.

Alconite or Torzite KW guides all the way and then a MN tip top. Tip top needs a “tang” on the end so that you can run thread on it as well. All my runner guides are a minimum of 10mm including my tip top.

The Carolina Cast Pro 11’ is paired with an Akios 555 CTM for pompano/sea mullet. I have one rodgeeks 10’ 1-4 fast action paired with an abu 5600 for the same species. I have them spooled with 12lb suffix tritanium with 20lb flouro shock leader.

Thank you for the response. I did put the color perservative on the threads because I used bright threads. I do have a dryer and I really appreciate your response and guidance. This is the first rod that I have ever built and I wanna do it right the first time. Thanks again.

I am a newbie builder and I am looking for some help on a chevron design that i created on a rod. What is the create way to epoxy the thread? Do i let it rotate and just let the brush go in the direction of the thread? I look forward to the responses. Thanks.
