size 17 spinning is fine, that is what i put on my pb7ml and 73ml. i just ran the mvt reel seat on my builds, no foregrips, just a small butt, reel seat and love the way it came out, i wouldn't add any un-necessary weight to it

I have had a few x-rays and all the PB73's I love the 73 ML Point Blank it makes my favorite custom inshore spinning rod I also have the 73M, but i like the ml better for artificial fishing and ive caught tarpon up to 30lbs on it. if you wanted a popping cork rod do the m but for just artificial do the ml also to me the balance point on the ml is closer to the butt, so you can run

hmm.... i would say the fp885 its an awesome rod, you can do alot with it. frogs, 3/8 to 3/4oz flipping, also the 130 whopper flopper are what i use mine for the most. i haven't thrown swimbaits or spinnerbaits on mine but really like that rod, very versatile. and rated up to 1.5 oz. the black metallic looks sick too btw

I’ve got all the 73’s from PB M and Ml are spinners Mh and H are casting What crankbaits do you want to throw ? I think the Mh would work for lipless. Especially if ripping through grass. I love PB’s but generally not what I think about when throwing crankbaits and haven’t used them for such

i kinda struggled with this at first them listed to Jim and i go out and cast alot i use this to mock up the guides then i go out and just cast for a few days and move the guide up and down ive built a few 73's my last 2 were point blanks a mh and heavy, i want to say after a good bit of casting that the heavy ended up being about an inch closer to the reel, but all are usually aroun

i would think for sure a 20 will work, i just put a saltiga 10k on a rod with a dps-20 on it last night, and i think thats a similar sized reel, a touch lighter put a 6000 shimano on another rod with a dps 18 as well and both fit perfect size 22 is rather large, ive never held a cabo 60 hopefully that provides some perspective

I would take a look at these... I have 2 of the blanks and really like them, in the process of getting them built now just waiting on guides. seems like a great compromise of strength and sensitivity

I would probably say the 7ft ML I have it and the 73 ML and 73m, i feel the 7ft is a better bottom contact type rod, the 73ml is more parabolic i like it for jerkbaits

I’m finishing up the XC 804 and 805 builds now Just need to wrap guides. I’ve fished my 734 so I feel they have the power but no on the water experience with either I’m running Penn Slammer 3’s, 7500 on the 805 and 6500 on the 804 I’m going 65lb and 80lb mazcuatro PP on mine. Alright so I put and I don’t remember now how much but I think a 1.25oz tungsten flipping weight in the bu

i have a few of the rodgeeks XC's i built mine for saltwater but don't see why they wouldn't work for your friend. i have both the 731 and 732 i would probably lean more towards the 731 or 732, to me there is a significant difference in power between the 2. the 732 is alot more powerful. I also find the 731 to be more moderate and have a soft tip, so i would probably cut off the tip of t

I started fishing chatterbaits on my mhx cb845, it worked just fine. then decided to build a more dedicated chatterbait set up. i did reference the info Brett Hite has shared on chatterbait fishing so that lead me in the direction of a more moderate to mod fast blank so i started messing around with the cb906 blank i have built 2 so far. one is 7'3" the other around 7'4"

Herb. Ha ha. It’s the most powerful rod I’ve built or owned in hindsight maybe not the best title. I have some tarpon trips up coming so it’s time to get serious about it.

interesting I have both the mb and sj 736 x-ray blanks i found the mb to be under powered and not exactly what i was looking for. but i received by sj736 last week and i am very impressed, its very close in power and action to the nrx 873. In no way is it a heavy.
