I am good with that but the issue is they say 2-3 week ship time then takes 12-16 weeks or longer. They should just say 3-4 months. Never good to over commit and under perform.

I look forward to your write up on the CRB. Which one did you get? One day I may order the 7’6” MF Heavy to throw 6xd cranks.

More often than I like when reaming short fore ends/grips I end up getting it off center and usually by the time I realize it it’s off and end up trashing it. Any tips to keep the hole centered. I am using the dream reamers. Thank you!

Take a look at the Phenix PHX-S692L-B. I built a rod for myself on one and really like it for throwing light weight finesse baits. I think it would fit what you are looking for.

I am thinking moderate to moderate fast as he wants to be able to load the rod to make long casts.

Plug = Lure
Sounds like rapalas and swimbaits from what he described. Various retrieves and presentations.

I did a search first but didnt really find any current info
I have a request from a guy I work with to build him a one piece 8-9’ saltwater spinning rod for throwing plugs up to 3oz off of piers. I am still a greenhorn at rod building but I feel confident I can build him a solid rod with standard wraps which is all he wants. I am a freshwater bass guy and everything I have built so far has bee

I looked at the X-rays. They do have one that would work, I believe it was SJ 736 Fast/Heavy. How do you think this blank would work on a casting platform using 15 pound fluorocarbon? I called them to ask but the guy I need to talk to is off all week per the lady that answered.

What is the overall quality of the NFC Delta blanks? I was thinking of putting together a deep water worm rod for fishing ledges here on the TN river system. I am usually throwing 1/2 ounce weight on 15 pound fluorocarbon. I usually like 7' 7'4". This blank is a little longer but may work MB 795-1 Delta LMX. Opinions and thank you!

I’ll have another look at it tonight but based on your suggestions will just put a reel seat and handle back on it as is.

First of all thank you to all that have given guidance so far to a new guy at this.
I have an older, mid 90s, composite/glass? Lew’s 7’ cranking rod. It’s a great rod for small crankbaits and have caught no telling how many fish on it. Last time out I noticed the reel seat was cracked all the way around. Tonight I successfully removed the old cork handle, reel seat and foregrip. I then lightl

In the near future I want to put together a ned rig rod. A spinning rod probably 6’6” to 6’9”, open to suggestions, probably looking at $100 or less for the blank.
Thank you!
