I was just at seeker last week and picked up a BC706 and a BS706. They had plenty in stock and it seems they are grey blanks now as that is what I received.

Thank you all for the suggestions. I am in SoCal and don't see a whole lot of heavy vegetation. I will take a look at the suggested blanks and see how they fit with what I am looking got build.

Looking to build a frog rod for personal use, I would appreciate any suggestions and ideas. Ideally a 7ft blank fast action.

Hello Josh,
I know you said you wanted to stick with NFC..I like them too. Perhaps another good choice for your build may a Bushido CB 72/6-12 or the CB 72/8-15. Both are great cranking rods and aren't too heavy on the wallet.
Best regards,

Hello,
New rod builder, with 6 builds completed. Just received an un-sanded blank from manufacturer and noticed that a small (1/3 inch) length fiber peeled from the very tip top of rod. Should I be worried about this? I am happy to send it back to manufacturer if it puts the blank at risk of failure. If it is no worry could I sand it and move forward with build? Any advice is greatly appreciat

11. Guide spacing
Hello,
I am new to the forum but have been lurking for a while. I also a m fairly new to rod building with 5 builds under my belt, so please bear with me. My question is regarding a NFC blank (DS 761) that I intend to build a spinning rod out of. I usually buy the guide kits ( Microwave, CRB etc.) and follow the suggested guide spacing from the manufacturer. I noticed on NFC website they have
