I buy a lot of chinese lines . When you cast like I do you gonna need a lot of spares ! There are very few BAD lines out there ang when I can buy a line for 410 I can afford a few bad ones over the years . I also use Wulff TT a lot but damn they expensive . I shudder to think about paying for a Rio .

I guess I'm the exception to the rule . I use U40 and find that it does indeed darken the cork ever so slightly . Gives it a little character . Now this may be because I only use premade @#$%& cheapo grips as I dont see the value in spending over $40 for any grip . YMMV .

In the past I have covered cork with Thread Master Lite and it has held up good . I did this for two reasons . The first was a rod that I've had for over forty years and the cork was starting to chip away . I wanted to preserve the handle and memories so I covered in TML . The second was a rod I built for myself and was using a prebuilt one piece cork reel seat and handle . I had it almost done

I know of a few people other than myself that have built them and they are really happy with them . Mark at RDP has 0 thru 3 in 6' IM 6 blanks . I have built three of them and they are great blanks and has a very good warranty program . Also ,

I did it on a couple of cork grips and I used Thread Master lite . It seems to be holding up fine so far . I thought it would be slippery but that hasn't been the case .

One thing about snakes , the black Nickle is NO where close to black ( why I quit using them) so if you want black go to something else . The cork you want is mortised or hooded . Reel seat the same .

#1 I'd buy in America all the time IF I could find what I wanted without having to my child . #2 This virus isn't any worse than the Hong Kong Flu and most all of us that had it lived . These flus / virus's all will kill a certain amount of people and we all have to go sometime .
