You still don't get the simplest thing in the World Like to put nonsense in my mouth which I didn't say And talk tripe in general It is a simple and basic observation that an unspined rod twisted HORRIBLY under load Maybe you like to put rubbish in the minds of the customers you blag and fool, but you are certainly not going to do it to me!

As expected plenty of sheep, follower types rubbishing spine building It is a VERY convenient thing NOT to do, so we are agreed on something! What makes me laugh, though, is it takes about three minutes to spine and mark up a blank before actual building work begins, and what makes me laugh even harder is pandering to idiot customers who insist their rod should be straight! All you have to do i

It seems the reply function here is a bit odd I expected it to quote the message I was replying to!? (That would seem fairly logical)!!? Let me help you people The non spine built rod with strong spine I tested twisted HORRIBLY, OBVIOUSLY and REVOLTINGLY under load My hands and eyes do not lie!! It was a short spinning rod The spine gets more and more important the shorter the rod is

Professionally trained means that I spent a lot of money learning from a very experianced rod builder What is the problem people have with that!? Good point re: strong spines versus weak ones Obviously a strong spined rod must be built with the utmost care and a weak spined one can be built however you choose I would have got to that had people on my thread, in general, not been so defensive

You are trying to tell me my judgement, hands, and feel are wrong And you hae no idea how many hours I spent testing different rods My eyes, hands, and experience do not lie! You obviously work for a major manufacturer and are happy to repeatedly spout rubbish about how the spine doesn't matter IT DOES, and you have met your match mate because you talk generalistic rubbish on a daily basis

I believe the rod should always be built with the guides aligned in the plane of least resistance And I mean the WHOLE rod, not just the top section Its the whole rod you use, after all, not just the tip!

Do NOT tell me what I felt and carefully tested (for several days across multiple rods) with my hands is wrong Some unspined rods are absolutely HORRIBLE and torque twisty to use = FACT

I won't tell you my secrets (I am a professionally trained rod builder) But I can rebuild any rod on the spine by rebuilding ONLY the top section With travel rods its even easier for me, I only ever need to rebuild one or two middle sections I HATE unspined rods (almost as much as I hate the rubbishing of spine building which seems to be happily taken as the truth by sheep who believe in a che

I have been reading the forum for a while now without posting and have finally had enough of people spouting RUBBISH about how the spine doesn't matter.. It does matter - a LOT I tested all my rods by hand and those that had a strong spine which weren't spine built torque twisted horribly under load - the effect was obvious, horrible, and very detrimental - basically a terrible lack of sensiti
