On the spinning rods that I build I use microwaves. For the bigger saltwater rods I use microwave 30’s double foot and they will handle yellowfin tuna with no problems. As far freshwater and inshore airwaves are used. You can’t go wrong with these guides.

For deep cranking I use the Bushido CB78/10-20. If you are wanting a shorter blank I would recommend the CB72/10-20. You can’t go wrong with either blanks.

I have built many rods with the Aero reel seat from American Tackle. I have used the comfort and non-comfort Aero. They also have it in a size 17. If you build a rod with these reel seats you will be very pleased with them. They fit in your hand perfectly.

I have built a couple rods with this handle system. I also have a couple more builds coming up. The TSUKA carbon fiber handle system is the best on the market . The fill and sensitivity of these grips are amazing. They also add a nice clean look to your build.

Thanks for the input. I look down the rod also because the laser doesn’t work that well.

What is everybody using to line your guides up on the rod blank? I have the CRB laser but it doesn’t work that well.

My 18 rpm rod dryer motor just quit. My question is. I have a 30 rpm rod dryer that I use to apply epoxy. Can I leave the rod on it turning until the epoxy dries or will it mess the epoxy up with it spinning at that rpm?

I am having an issue with dust. What is everyone doing to keep dust off of the epoxy while drying? I make sure the rod is dust free before applying epoxy. I was thinking about getting a couple of air purifiers to filter the air.

I haven’t had any issues with the decals wanting to lift. Just when applying the epoxy it repelles in certain places for some reason.

When I applied the epoxy to the decal on my new build it pushed it away in some spots. Does anybody have any salutations to this problem? I haven’t touched the decal with my fingers or anything. I have seen a couple things saying you can put clear fingernail polish on the decal. Then apply the epoxy over the top of it. Any input on this will be greatly appreciated.
