Mark, The chemical formula for Oxygen is O2, and it should read that the Atomic number for Carbon is C6. "C6 is the Atomic Number for Carbon, and O2 is the chemical formula for Oxygen, a component of air." Better? We never stated that O2 is representative of pure oxygen, just that its a component of air. I'll leave the other comments unaddressed, because I don't want the men

David, The Modulus relates to the stiffness of a fiber, and has some correlation to its tensile strength. However, for a tube, the compression strength and elongation percentage play a much more important role that just the Modulus (compression is usually measured in MPa) the holy grail is when a fiber has all three (among other properties - some fiber is round, some is oval, which has its own b

Lance, Yes we are - about 30 models in total...the material is on allocation for now, so its being "allocated" to the models that sell more per our internal mix. From what I recall - the stated weight of the PB 73MH is about 2.12oz and for the Medium right at 2oz, which is right in line with our Xray lineup. This is 30% lighter. Its definitely a preference for some people. Size B thread, and you can wrap them just as quickly as those that are smooth. C6 is the chemical formula for Carbon, and O2 is the chemical formula for Oxygen, a component of air. One of our initial testers of the blank provided in his feedback that holding this blank is like holding air – so the name “Carbon Air” stuck. C6O2 is not just a name. Its a new fiber and a new technology that holds the fiber together. Air Carbon is a combination of a pure carbon mesh that

Chris, I got it. It will take me a bit of time to do a drill down on what is causing the issue (this is not the app though correct? but rather the forum itself?) Have you tried to see if the issue persists with Chrome? Best Regards. Carl, I would start here and then adjust: Type in "SU" into the search field for Surf. The handle length will determine your overall guide spacing...and to echo Tom, you may want to re-think the guide sizes if you are making a distance blank. Dear RodBuilders, About two years ago, we launched an 'opt-in' rodbuilder directory - all that is required is for a custom rod builder to send an email to rodmap@northforkcomposites.com and we can add you to the directory. A useful feature is t

Dear Rodbuilders, I've had the pleasure in meeting with the REC team at ICAST, take a look at some of their new products (we use them on our "factory" rods) and do a test-drive of the new app. I am happy to report that REC Components are back as a forum sponsor! The link to their shop has been re-activated on the left bar. Thank you, Aleks

Dear Rodbuilders, If you are in the market for a fly blank, this Saturday and Sunday 7/30 and 7/31 if you buy any FAF and Iconoglass blank, we will include a Flor Grade grip free. More details on the specs of the grip are available here: This is true Flor grade cork, imported from Portugal, from a family farm with which Gary has had a relationship going back 30 years. I am happy to be very transparent about the reasons for buying RBO. 1) Organic traffic is king, if you search for “rodbuilding” the forum is the first link that comes up, that’s not an ad. Due to the forum being around for such a long time, the back links, authority ranking is near the very top. Companies spend tens of thousands of dollars in ads monthly to be at the top of page temporarily. 2)

If you have tried to read the forum on a mobile phone, it is challenging to say the least. The challenge was to leave the forum as a webpage, but also allow it to function within the app (the search function too, within the app) in addition, we needed to bring the photos (all 20,000 of them) from the photo gallery, that runs on a different module into the app as well. Essentially, we had to &q

It was great to see everyone - Billy and Mary were on point! My favorite moment was when Bill Dance walked into the booth to chat with Gary about the many ICASTs they have been to, and the conversation quickly turned to who had more pain in what part of the body. I did sneak this photo in though! Best, Aleks

Tim, The most common one used by guides in the PNW for side drifting is the ST7111 The tip is light, it loads deep, and the butt had enough power to put the breaks on the fish. Best, Aleks

The topics moving to the top is really an integration with the App - specifically posting the pictures from the photo gallery into the app, so that the forum is not inundated with new posts on the main page. We are still working through a number of updates, so please keep the feedback coming. Best, Aleks
