Matt, The 360 Pro Blanks were designed specifically for trolling plugs, diver and bait, and 360 flasher type applications. The lure weight listed is a casting weight (if you were to cast that lure from shore) If you are using as a trolling application - double the lure rate. Hope that helps, Aleks

From the desk for Gary Loomis: As I write this message – it is Memorial Day. It also happens that I am 80 years old today. I am privileged to have made it this far, many of my friends have not. I cherish their memories and miss them dearly. I look back at my 45 years of rod building and realize that I would not have been able to accomplish anything without great mentors like Milton Shedd and

Chris, I replied to this in the other NFC thread. You don’t have to worry about NFC “abandoning” the rod building community Our roots and history are deeply intertwined with the custom rod builder. It’s not easy to make blanks in the USA - and there are not many factories left - and none that sell directly to the rod builder. We see an incredible revival of builders buying American made produc

Spencer, This is not an offshore specific rod, and the weight on the blank is there to showcase the power of the tip. The blank is also great for Musky applications, etc. :-) Spencer Phipps Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Considering the sea conditions here during non > summer months in the Pac NW, and the Covid crisis > I can't imagine m

Dear All, About a year ago we introduced the NEO blank - which has very quickly become a favorite of rod-builders for its versatility and durability. Many have called it "The One" as its application spans many techniques and styles. We are excited to introduce its older brother that has spent some time at the gym bulking up - a versatile extra heavy blank! More details and pict

Aaron, The NEO is a great blank for deep diving crank baits, its a composite (carbon/zentron) so the tip is soft and slow to recover, the body is progressively stiff. You can see the deflection here: Aleks

Shawn, For the NFC grips - we have a few different types. The soft touch grips as you have mentioned have arbors that are NOW pre-glued (as of this month) We received A LOT of feedback of what would make their assembly easier, and a pre-glued arbor was one of the recent upgrades. The IPS and VSS grips fit the reel-seats perfectly, with the VSS designed for the size 16. The split grips

Shawn, I am biased, because I love NFC, and all of the blanks are like our children :-) A few times per year we run a deep promo on X-ray blanks because we are of the firm belief that if folks try our blanks - they will never look back and will continue to incorporate them into their builds. There is a description on our page of what makes an X-ray blank - we chose the name as throughout

Andrew, I am biased - because I love NFC. The classic lineup of blanks will feel and behave very similar to the IMX and GLX blanks that Gary made at G.Loomis. The materials have gotten better over the last 30 years, which has allowed him to design a similar action that is lighter and stronger. The classic blanks have a wrap/reinforced ferrule (it looks like a spiral in the ferrule area) whi

Russ, (also, those that are looking for a smooth finish, and DO NOT want to coat the grips) Please grab a scotch-brite - we have found that the purple ones work best, and "scrub" the outside of the grip. It will give it a matte, smooth, finish. This is akin to "buffing" the grips. ALL of the Edge Rods grips go through this process. We use a different process

Ben, I looked at our records (purchase/warranty/email) for your first name and last name, and I cannot find ANY record of you making a purchase or having a concern. If you have not had any business dealings with us, why are you stating that we have poor customer service? Or is this "I have heard this from a buddy of mine?" Pat, Thank you! We designed them to press up against the reel seat (not to have a lip between the edge of the reelseat and the edge of the grip) The folks that tested them for about a year before they were released found the lip “annoying” Pat Haley Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Last week I built 4 NFC X-Ray rods using the Soft > Touch Gr
