Hey guys, i have another ? on paste type of epoxies. Seems like the vast majority of them come in 2 containers resin and hardener. Is there any secret(if any} of measuring exact equal portions. Seems like I'm just kinda eyeballing it.I just feel like I'm not getting equal portions. could i use some type of measuring spoon or something similar. This stuff is very sticky. Thanks.

I was actually going to ask anybody if they think that the s-glass blanks from mud hole would be an option? I'm just a little unsure of the quality vs. the st criox. Roger

After reading all the information and comments, I'll keep looking online for a while. Mud hole only has the 7'2 and 7'11 models and rod geeks has a few 7'0 that look like like they may work. I will just have to cut the butt back a few inches or so. I just really liked the color of the croix blanks. Batson has a few in there judge line up. I was wanting to kinda color coordinate my reels with the

Hey guys, just found out today that st croix no longer offers rod blanks for sale. I'm not very happy about this as i was a couple wks away from getting a few of the legend glass rods. Does any one know where i might find some of these. Seems like there might be a few floating around out there. I was looking at the 6"10 models. they made a 6'10 medium moderate and a 6"10 med/hvy. A name

This might be a really great option for catfishing at night! Wrap the top 3 or 4 inches below the top with this thread or wrap 3 or 4 guides with it. I was thinking of doing this very thing with my own catfish rods, if i ever get them built! lol Roger

Hey guys, have another ? regarding reel seats. Does anybody know any rod building supply house or some one that makes or sells ready-made wood inserts for fuji SKM skeleton reels seats? I would like several different options as far as the type of wood (pine, mohagony, cedar etc...) goes. I would like to use this type of reel seat on an ultra light rod. I don't think that that they would be hard t

Been looking at some different factory rods to get an idea on different handle designs for my custom rods and looked at a rod that had sea-guide reel seats on them. They looked ok but up until a few months ago, i have never heard of them. How would they compare to say fugi seats? Actually the rods that i looked at were fenwick HMG rods. Thanks, Roger

I just looked at these blanks a few minutes ago and this might be the way to go. The selection just about covers eveything. I did have a ? about the color options though. When you say unfinished what color are we talking about? I would prefer these rods to be a solid black color. Thanks, Roger

Hey guys, thanks for all your recomendations on blanks. Maybe i should have been more specific. Looking for a good bank rod in the 7 to 8' range. Basically, i would be targeting all three species (blues, flats, and channels. Just a good all around rod that i could do just about anything with. From bottom fishing to maybe fishing at night with a lighted bobber just to name a few. Maybe a mod-fast ac

Hey guys, what would be a good all around bait casting rod blank for catfishing. I would prefer to use a glass rod and not afraid of spending a little for a good one. Thanks, Roger

Hey guys, Roger again. Has anyone experimented with lock wraps on these types of guides? I've tried several times, and it seems like i leave gaps toward the guide ring end (unavoidable) I tested the wrap on some old l runners and LV's. with out any problems. Seems like the Kt is a bit different behind the foot I'd like to use this type of wrap on my single foot guides just for added insurance. T

Hey guys, Roger again. Has anyone experimented with lock wraps on these guides and figured out a way to do it? I've practiced on the old L runners and some LV's, but it doesn't seem to work on the KT's. The back of the KT guide is a bit different shape. I tried several times and i kept leaving gap's at the back of the foot. Would like to put lock wraps on all of my single foot guides just as adde

Thanks to you all for the good advice reguarding rod blanks. I happen to treat all my equipment with the upmost care. I've had some fenwick rods for years that still look like new. I guess that makes good sense, bottom line is take care of your equipment. I've also looked at some reels on @#$%& (Morrum series by ABU, great reels!) and some of them looked as if they had went catfishing and just we
