I've built several rods for customers and a couple for myself with the CCT Aero and Blade seats. I and my customers really like them. They are as advertised, they make for a more aesthetic, lightweight, more sensitive build!! Waiting patiently for the new HCC seats to come out!!

I've been seeing this new Tsuka handle system from AT online for a while now but I can't find anyone who is carrying it as of yet. From what I've read the actual handle and CF hoods are the G2s which have been out and I have been using for a while now. The only thing I can see that is actually new is the CF HSS reel seat. Someone in another post had mentioned he has used the reel seats and liked

I have several Lew's rods simply because I love the action of each and every one I bought BUT I absolutely hate the hook keeper holes in bottom of the trigger. It puts the bait/hook down lower on the blank but also puts it on the bottom of the rod which causes them not to lay flat on the deck of my boat. So, they all now have a dropshot style hook keeper up top and in front of the reel seat. I li

I'm planning another build for myself and want to put a Tiger Wrap above the fore-grip. My question pertains to color. My trim parts are red and plan to use the red Fusion Variegated thread on the guides. I want to stay with the Reddish/Whiteish tone of the variegated thread so what colors should I use (upper and lower) for the tiger?? Thanks In Advance!

Got my Mudhole order yesterday and discovered Mudholes Blank Diameter Chart is incorrect, at least is is for the blank I got. I ordered an American Tackle exposed blank reel seat that comes with an insert. According to the chart the ID of the insert should go down to where I wanted it but the blank was actually about .5 mm plus larger than the chart says. Did not discover this until after I expox

I am a rookie building my first rod so bare with me-----I have a very slim blank I'm working with and need to know what size winding checks to order. I plan on using the black rubber WCs from Mudhole which come in a variety of sizes but nothing really close to the diameter of my blank. Because I do not have my reel seat and handle I can't give an exact measurement of where the winding checks will

I got the cork removed and found "loads" of epoxy underneath (Hood nut cracked had to replace it all). Will Citristrip remove the epoxy as well as the flaking finish??

You mention using a chemical to remove the old finish. Which is better chemical or sanding?? In any case I will prolly remove the guides and completely rebuild the rod to make it look good cosmetically.

First off let me thank you all in advance for sharing your experiences and patience with me. I'm about to take my second retirement and wanted to try rod building to occupy my spare time. Now for my "Rookie Question": I have an older Allstar rod that the clear coating is coming off all up and down the rod. Some places it's just flaking off. Really weird cause I have another identical
