There several post about Bottom bouncer rods. When using the search function make sure you check all post there a lot of information on sight. The idea of using a BB to jig with seems counter productive because of the heavy action of a BB rod.

Hey mike there is a mobile app and I have it under RodBuilding.org. There was a write up in the last two years on the sight here. Might do a search longer that a couple years ago. Do a search in the app store and it comes up.

I keep building for me with the drop shot keeper. My buddies all want traditional types. Agreed on all the different uses. One day I'll figure it out.

I continue to put the drop shot weight/hook keeper on backwards. I don't use then but about every 7 to 10 months and I keep putting them backwards, I've put a sticky note up and still. So far I've caught it before epoxy.

Alex thank you so much for the master list! I also purchased a mystery box.

It handles it well. What I like is how the rod loads then springs the jig off the bottom but I don't feel like I loose track of it like you do with a fast action rod. When I was researching I also noted that it could handle different weights as well.

The rod is lighter than I thought I think with will work fine I'm using it for walleye. Blank is SLJ 640-1 (X-Ray LMX)

I built a similar rod this winter for spoons and jigging raps up to 7/8 oz. I went with a slow jig salt water rod from NFC. It has a very moderate action but a very good back bone. I've only made a few cast to see if it feel right and I like the feel. Have not had a chance to fish all day with it so as of yet it is untested.

From NFC web sight, "Full Rear Grip Length – 15.5 Inches from Reel Seat to EVA Cap, ID of Barrel at Reel Seat: 14.7mm, Weight: 30 grams (without EVA cap and locking nut) " Looking at the photo's it looks like the handle is 15" then the reel seat.

Might look at the Hybrid CB 7106 Zentron (Delta LMX) from NFC. Affordable and works like an Ugly stick. I've build two for salmon in SD/MT and they work in a rigger and flat line trolling.

Another option is to use castration bands you buy at a farm and ranch store. Heavy duty. Cut the locking nut off as stated and add three or 4 castration bands over the butt of the rod and move forward add the reel pull the band back to the reel. We use these for ice fishing to reduce weight and move the reel on the handle to the persons liking.

I ordered an NFC 725-1 X-ray c602 last August. Was notified it would be delivered today 01/17. I arrived home from work after a long day in court looking forward to playing with a blank I wait so long for. I pulled into the driveway and found a rod tube leaned up on my trash can. Never had anything left there before and my heart dropped as there was about a 60 degree bend in the tube . Packing ta

I would agree with Dean's observation. I would think a 3 power blank would fish the weight better.

I've been building a few on the Delta's as well. I've built 5 on the MB703-1. I built two at Christmas and all of my buddy's wanted one for throwing Jigging Raps and blades for walleye. I threw plastic with it this weekend on a 3/8 head and it's about right. I've built two KDR 760-1 for trolling crankbaits. Have not had them in the boat yet but they feel right. I built 4 Hybrid CB704 Zentron for

I would look at the NFC Hybrid CB 704 Zentron (Delta LMX). The Zentron works like an Ugly Stick in my option and I think would make a great Jaw Jacker rod cut down to size.

I built one a few years ago for exactly this application. I used MHX 7'0" Med-Light Elite-X Rod Blank - NSJ842-MHX and paired it with Microwave guides. Cast like a dream.

I troll with a 9.9 kicker and use the trolling motor to steer on a Lund 1875. I used the Ugly Sticks back in the day but didn't like them as much because of the weight of the rod on those days when you needed to feed the line back to the fish and hold the rod all day. I used a Jason Mitchell for years and it's about perfect and a lot of days gets pulled of the rod locker (Less and Less as I get b

I've built several BB rods the last couple years for tournaments and after my buddy's fish with my BB rods they have me build them one. I've been using Mudholes CRB color blanks in the MH. 7'6" front rod holder and 6'6' back rod holder. I use a different color for each rod so I can call out the color of rod with a fish. I like Winn grips or texalium handles. The rods hold up very well and ar
