I have a guy looking for a S glass rod. He wants to use it for catfish and sturgeon. I need to be in the 7 foot range and have a sensitive tip for the sturgeon bite but yet have enough backbone for a 70 lb fish. I haven't found anything for this yet. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ben belote if you take the proper precautions there is no harm in it. Which I am doing. My full time job as a welder has taken more of a toll on my body than turning rods ever will.

I have been using my cordless drill and sand paper to turn fiberglass ice rods down to what I want. What are you guys using to do this? Is there a better set up for it? I am hoping to find something a little fast cuz this seems to take quite a bit of time.

I use the same set up as Robert A. Guist the multiple drawers work well then I use a piece of scotch tape and a sharpie to write the size, style and manufacturer. And I can store all my other stuff in it like the marbling pigments, winding checks and other stuff

I have been using Pro Kote finish and recently the resin has gotten grainy looking and really thick is this normal? I always close the bottle right after I get out what I need. Am I doing something wrong?
