I agree with Bill in the BP1025F for board rods. They are pretty good for rods when running light lead cores up to heavy copper lines.

Has anyone built on a Bushido BVJ60325 that has found a good substitution since that blank was discontinued. ATC has the AXVJ 6060-325 that is close but the action isn’t the same.
Thank you

I was asked by a friend to build a TFO 9' 10wt BVK for use on Permit, Tarpon and Bonefish. I warned him I haven't built one and haven't used one for at least 30 years but he wants me to build it. I'm looking for some info on guide selection. Who wants to go first?
Thanks.

Bruno, on my heavy popping rods I use 16s because I run a mono twisty shock leader between my braid and fluorocarbon leader. On the lighter rods I don't use the twisty and us a FG knot and size12 guides are fine.

Current setup is 12" butt to reel stem. That's what he wants and I can see him being a little jammed up in a kayak. He is a large person. I was just curious what others felt about adding weight.

Did you find the grip you wanted? On a long rear grip I put 2 together then used the flocked shrink tube over it.
