3. Walleye rod
I noticed that get bit was having a sale on there North fork customs and thought it would be a great chance to get a really nice blank for cheaper. I have recently started walleye fishing with my father on the Columbia river where the current is strong. Mainly we jig with 1oz jigs but sometimes we troll with some sort of set up. Sorry not sure what it's called. It's a piece of wire with a weight

The reson I like to do two coats is because I like to really pile on the epoxy while I'm spinning it by hand then when I get all the guides coated I let the rod sit for a couple minutes then wipe out the drips. I'll usually rotate a couple time to make sure it won't football so I would think the wraps are getting wetted enough. After that process it's usually a fairly thin first coat to where I'l

11. Epoxy problems
I finished a rod pry 4 months ago and took it fishing maybe 5 times. It's a spiral wrapped rod with a simple spiral. My first 180* guide has the epoxy peeling and cracking and the first three guides all have crackes where the feet come up to the guide. I was curious what you guys think would cause and how I can prevent it from happening again because I'll probably end rewrapping them again.

Hey thanks for all the information guys! My next casting rod I build (I'm sure I'll find a need for another one) I'll have to try out the different methods and see how they cast. I must say though for simplesty of the bumper spiral sure is nice!

So when you guys do the simple spiral do just put all the guides on the bottom and static test?

Hey thanks for all the input guys! Just out of curiosity what method do you guys prefer? I finished a casting rod a few weeks ago and used the simple spiral and really liked that but then was reading in the Search bar and it seems people prefer a different style for casting. Just curious what your thoughts were?

Yea that's what my buddies look like but, correct me if I'm wrong, I thought the O'Quinn was about every four inches till the 180? His looks like a bigger distance then that.

Hi folks, I was just curious if anybody knew what kind of spiral wrap Gary loomis does on his new brand edge rods? I have seen s few and they seem to be a slow transition compared to a 'simple spiral' or Roberts wrap. Any help would be appreciated, thank you!

The resin for the kl instead of kl-h is mainly because i like the look of the kl better then the kl-h probably terrible reasoning but is it harder to use micros with the new guide concept?

Hey thank you guys! That's just what I was looking for Norman. Now do you think there choker point layout would still work or the 27 times layout be better?

I've done that but can only use the KR concept gps and not the NGC gps. For the K series it gives me sizes for the KL-H guides the ones I would prefer not to use. Maybe I could compare guide heights on there sizing chart? Do you think that would work?

Looks like something you could possibly get put in rod maker!

Ok guys one more question, I'm building a 8'6" spinning rod. The reel I'm using is a shimano stradic ci4+ 3000 with 15# braid. The question I have is sizing the reduction train, I read the guide article in the library but in order to do it the way it suggests it seems I would have to have extra guides laying about which I don't. I would like to use the KL guides from fuji's k series. Not the

How about the k series regular ring guides are those nice to?

Thoughts on the KR concept (high frame small ring). I'm curious on how well these things hold up durability whise? What do you guys think would be best for braid in the 15 to 17# range this concept or NGC concept?

O gotcha that's just a style of handle. Let's say I was going to use the carbon tube with a separate reel seat then forgrip, is there anyway to taper the forgrip? Like a Lamiglas si series or infinity series set up is what I'm kind of trying to replicate. Now that I think about it tho maybe its all one piece? Idk it's a nice handle tho. Thanks roger!
