Ok, I did a search and pulled up some info....But still if I could have some clarification that would be appreciated.
I use custom tackle jigs to cut the cork into 4ths and 8ths. Ive seen people sucessfully do checkboards with these, so I am sure it is user error.
Anyhow, my first checkboard was done with slicing the cork rings, gluing the rings, zip tie and let dry. post drying I would d

Interesting, Diawa has a new rod out I saw this weekend with a similar or same handel system with Fuji Titianium concepts in spinning and baitcast for $350...The rod I am referencing is a steez, hard to find a good picture...
I just thought I was missing something $160.00 seems very high.

For those building saltwater rods, one thing I found useful in reference to hookkeeps is using a rec saltwater snakeguide...I use size 2....I didnt invent this, saw it on a rod in Texas and liked the idea....I personally dont perfer there guides, on a baitcaster. However if you are putting titanium guides on a rod for saltwater, make sence to make the hook keep as corrosion resistent as possible.

I think my very first post was this question, I didn't want to waste the money on a hand wrapper if I was going to end up wanting a power wrapper....That was about 18 months ago or so, I probley built 30 rods or so on a hand wrapper....
Now I am considering a powerwrapper, however somehow I always spend my funds in components....

Ok....I want to try something new.....
I want to try a few new things:
1) build a flyrod with single foot running guides
2) reduce amount of different size guides.
I am building a 8wt 5 piece for saltwater and would like to know your thoughts.....I have recently built this blank with snake guides....
I was going to use three stripers 20 16 12 then for runners go 10 and run th

Try to find out because G Loomis has a great warranty no question asked for $50.00 they replace the whole rod no shipping charge or if it was custom made they give you the blank!!!!I dont think you can beat a warranty like that. G.Loomis Xpeditor Service is what you need to use with customer service, unless it is a manufacture defect....
Thanks,
Jeffrey

Any idea about max length of time I can wait before applying finish over the permagloss?
Forum: rodboard 16 years ago

When I use permagloss for feather inlays I apply LS supreme....
I generally put the LS on shortly after within a few hours, however I want to wait till I have another section, is there anyharm in that....Am I limited to 24hours here ....
Additionally, anyone use threadmaster over permagloss? I am interested in someone who has been doing that for a long time. I heard dont mix different man

I dont know....I don't personally want a wrap on an inshore rod or a flyrod most of the time, and definately not anything over 6 inches...Offshore rods, and surf rods make great canidates for wraps....Just dont like them on every application....Just my opinion....

Thank You! It worked I got it off. I was suprised as reading this before I was somewhat skeptical, however it worked quite well. I rebored the reelseat and all is well.
Thanks A lot, I got in a bad accident fishing and damaged my right eye so Im not fealing that bad about the mistake LOL...

Ok....i did it this time, new I would do it sooner or later....Anyhow I finished glueing my reelseat with my overlayed handled today on a flyrod. Basically the metal part of the top of the real seat is glued to the realseat and hidden by the cork which is bored out....
On the bottom the non-threaded piece of the reel seat doesnt line up with the top piece. I need it turned about 90 degrees.
