I always find answers on the forum, thanks all.
I was having problems getting tight wraps near the barb on the double foot K guides, mainly on the ring size 16 -12.
This was on a tuna jigging rod.
Using black D thread over an under wrap A, on silver guides; the gaps near the barb showed.
I tried wrapping the D up and down the foot, loose and tight, and prepping the guide more aggressively-

I just finished 2 Phenix jig rods spiral for tuna speed jigging.
I called the guys at Phenix and they gave me some starting point spacing and ring size. Very helpful.
Rest of the help I got from just reading here and in the magazine. Tony

Thanks - called around and for those that might be interested, heard the following: Am Tackle ATX AXST56XXH, and AXST56XH; Calstar RT80, BT655XXH, Blackhole Giant Blank 6'' XH (that one out of my price range) all were suggested.

Hello, Hoping for some suggestions/guidance from more experienced builders. Considering building a daytime swordfish deep drop rod for the NE canyons. Read what I could find about blanks but there are not many specific recommendations. A few refer to Blackfin rod blanks - generally 6 foot, 80 pound class, fast taper for detecting bite at 1500 feet.. It would be a bent butt rod, (#4), winthrop
