1. Re: Syncork
Hey Thanks guys!
I had won a sample kit of syncork awhile back and just decided to try it out.
I decided to mix it with some cactus 2 burl cork to make full wells fly grip and fighting butt.
Roger thanks for the detailed info for working with it, but I don't currently have the capability
to shape it on the rod. So, I went the route of gluing it up on a waxed mandrel. My thinking was I would

American Tackle AMF909 2pc Fly Blank
Does any one know how far up the blank the " 3K Woven Twill" finish goes up the blank from the butt of the rod?
Also does it resemble a carbon fiber grip? Does it look similar?
Thanks

Truth is I probably could by having a buddy(Scott....) pick me some up. You could do the same. If you don't know ANY one else that's going...
maybe you should consider going to make some contacts. There are a lot of awesome people that go to this show and a lot of knowledge to

Thanks Guys for all the help. I decided to go with a couple of coats of flex coat like Roger suggested. It worked good but my flex coat resin had clumped. You know how it does because my shop is in the basement where its cooler than the rest of the house. So I put it in some warm water to dissolve it and there were still some tiny undissolved clumps. Well 2 coats of that were enough so I scotch b

8. Perma Gloss
I have a spinning rod I am building with a cedar handle and fore grip from Archies custom Handles.
Would several thin layers of perma gloss work for a finish on the cedar?
Thanks.

One thing to remember for either pumps or syringes is that if you don't use them for a while they may skim over in the uptake tube.
Usually the resin seems to skim over more. This will cause the opening to be smaller, seems to affect the pumps more often,
but something to watch for in both methods. Especially if your rod shop is cool in temp and the resin gets thick anyways.

26. Perch rod help.
Hey guys I need some help.
I have a guy that wants a Perch (yellow- lake erie) rod to use on his boat, fishing in 40 ft of water.
He requests that if have a sensitive tip to feel the lite perch bite, yet have a stiff enough back bone that its snappy enough
to not miss the bite since he's fishing so deep. Also he wants it to be 2 pc. and 6 or 6 1/2 ft. His rods now work great for 1
