I have a C466MF that I just finished and I love it. Not mine but makes me want one!

Hugely helpful - that tells me that I would have to step up in power on the NFC to get to where I need to be. I think I'm going to give the Liberty a shot - I like dealing with GetBit anyway.

Thank you! I will check those out. Are the weights published accurate? They are listing them at 2oz - that's 1/3 less than the Liberty.

Looking for feedback from anyone who has used these two blanks - haven't held either - both 7'MH. Will be build with casting - split Winn grips, ECS seat, and Alconite guides (prob K's with size 5.5 runners as I run 30lb braid to leader most of the time). Looking for overall sensitivity and how they balance with a 10" rear handle. This is a rod for me personally and I will be building wit

The PTS reel seat is the most comfortable casting seat available - works with a wide range of the newer reels. The tube is needed to mount the seat - Fuji says.
I wish I didn't need the tube. Would rather not use it and I don't want a 'look' I just want the installation to go smoothly - it is going on a SCV blank and I don't want to screw it up.
If anyone knows how to install that seat wi

Bob - are you out of the PTS17 Red? Giving me a failure message when I add to the cart.
Thanks

It was a great show - I was able to bring a friend who has never built and wants to start. He bought 7 blanks - I'm going to be busy building and teaching him what I know (very little).
The highlights to me were the new handle systems from American Tackle and their Bushido blanks.
RodGeeks helped me procure a couple of blanks to fit specific needs for largemouth.
One thing I would like

Thank you very much. Should I consider a certain material thickness limit?

Anyone ever buy carbon tubes off Amazon for an insert? Looking to install Fuji PTS and they say I need a tube and want a tube to arbor up and mount reel seat and full-length cork rear on a ML bass casting rod. Need approx 14" max length.
Mudhole used to sell a similar tube for handle kits but I don't see it anymore.
Any feedback or ideas?
Thank you in advance.

I have decided that I am returning the Pac Bay guides and reel seat. I am going to stick to Fuji. The Alconite's may be slightly heavier but if the 6 builds I have completed I have had extremely consistent guides.
I too only build for me or close friends. Shipping is too high to take a chance on something that may or may not work.

They are not 3's. They are TiCH 4's but based on all the pics and comparison to each other it is a QC problem. They are not 'swagged' on the reel side. I'm returning them. Will try to get replacements if MH can verify they are correct.
Thanks.

It is on the #6 running guides. These are TiCH coated so they are 4's - not shipped incorrectly. They just don't seem to have been formed correctly to me...

Received a shipment of Minima 4's. They are supposed to go on to a MHX blank for a flipping stick.
In looking the guides over, I have noticed that the 'insert' isn't 'rolled' very well on the side of he guides nearest the reel - I'm worried that the sharper edge will catch my leader knot.
Has anyone here ever had a problem with Minima 4's and leader knots? I'm going to be using 50-65lb br

Size for size- which is lighter. Alconite Titanium or Minima 4?
Looking to place on a 7'6" flipping stick.
With the sizeable price difference so trying to decide which way to go.

The RX6 is Batson correct? Is this different from the Tradition 2?
Thanks

Any reason I shouldn't try this blank? I've been building on MHX and have found the Tradition 2 at a great price.
I'll be building freshwater bass rods - 7' an 7'6" flipping sticks.
Looking to try one of the flipping blanks soon unless someone talks me out of it.

So the consensus would be the Revelation is better than the MHX...
The cost difference in shipping from MudHole to Get Bit helps offset the cost difference.
The 7'2" MH is really appealing to me. Are the blanks pretty well balanced weight-wise?
Thank you all for the help.

Wanting to try a Rainshadow blank. I've been using MHX and want to try something different.
I'm going to build a 7' MH RX7 or 7'2" MH Revelation casting rod for bass soft plastics.
Is the Revelation worth the cost difference?
Thanks,
Larry

Anyone build a casting rod (I'm building a frog rod) with these? I'm thinking BKTAG's. How do they look on the rod? Anyone have any pics of builds they can share?
Thank you!

I potentially want to trim a Pac Bay Minima casting seat so I don't have my hands on the threads. I will leave a slight amount of thread in case of a reel change but I have been using Shimano *almost* exclusively for 25 years and don't expect to change any time soon.
I am also planning a build for Christmas for Dad. He wants a lighter spinning rod and I don't want a lot of threads extending

What is the best tool/method of trimming seat threads?
Any help is appreciated.

I really like seeing your feedback Geoff.
I just ordered supplies for two builds using both Minima seats and guides.
Thanks!
