I love Phenix UL blanks I have 3 elixer and an 8' iron feather that is my favorite. The Iron feather is expensive but the action is very fast and the rod is not wishy washy. I am hoping that they will offer the dragonfly series as a blank soon. I would love to try the 9 foot version.

I fill my tunnels first. I stand the rod tip upwith a slight lean and guides on top. Then take a bodkin or toothpick and put finish in each tunnel. Keep adding finish until the whole tunnel is full. If its
a little cool or the finish is real thick I use a heat gun to get it to flow
into the tunnel.

I just use latex work gloves that way I don't get any oil on the rod or thread. Before I started using gloves I used painters tape to remove anything.

When building on white blanks I use white fingernail polish to cover the foot. Sally Hansen hard as nails is my brand of choice.

Chris I think it does that if the company that you mentioned isn't a sponsor of this page.

I put line on spinning reels using a variable speed drill. I put the reel spool on the drill and wind it directly from the bulk spool to the reel spool.

I am going to make it some day. Being disabled and on a fixed income makes it tough. Hopefully next year is my year.

Tom the point of the tinfoil dish is to show that if you leave it alone it will level so the problem is probably you fussing with it too much.

Tom is spot on. Gravity is a constant if you could create a vacuum by @#$%& all of the air you could drop a feather and a steel ball at
same time the would land at the same time. Also if you level a rifle
to be parallel with the ground if you fire that rifle and drop a bullet held even with muzzle the bullets will hit at the same time.

I made the last one I did out of eastern Red cedar. I used a dremel and a sanding drum to fine tune it. It turned out OK.
