looking for the maximum line size that will pass through a micro guide and still cast/pitch an exceptable distance? I know this is a loaded question as far as distance is concerned. What minimum size micro would be recommended for 15 lb, 20 lb and 25 lb mono? Thanks for all replies!

Here is a reply from Batson for those interested......Chuck
Currently we have all of the Judge live bait models and two of the 7’ crankbait models (70M and 70H) available. I’m guessing you’re looking for the 7’10” crank models like most other inquiries right now. Unfortunately we don’t have these yet. Due to the more complex construction of the Judge series, there have been some setbacks in

Ok, I've searched high and low for a blank similar to the Falcon Rods Bobby Barrack Perfect Frog Rod. Here is the rod specs
Rod Action: XH
Rod Name: Bobby's Perfect Frog Rod
Rod Flex: M
Nine Fuji guides
Line Weight: 20-40 lb Mono 50-80lb Braid
Lure Weight: 3/8 to 2 oz
Rod Length: 7'10"
Any recommendations on a blank that is close to these specs?

Thanks for the responses! Capt Neil, do you believe this rod would make a good flipping rod for freshwater bass along the lines of Mr. Forhan's statement? Thanks for your help!

Hi All,
Here is my ? Rich Forhan made this comment about flip blanks... The original was a saltwater blank - S-glass, stiff tip, flexible mid-section. Graphite copies have mostly fallen short for effective Flippin'/Pitchin' . My question, has anyone tried a RodGeeks S-Glass model # SG79HM for flipping? Thanks!

John, Thanks for the details! Are you referring to the S-glass blanks from Rodgeeks?

18. Trolling rod ?s
I have a friend who trolls for trout using lead core line, 8 lb mono leader and small rapala minnows. His problem is losing fish. His rod he uses is a 5' ugly stick. My thoughts are the rod is too short and does not have enough flex once the fish is hooked. The other problem I see is the lead core line must put a good deal of flex into the rod? Is there a rod that could handle the lead core

CB78/10-20 for fishing DD22s and DT-16s or would the CB72/12-25 be a better fit for the DD22s?

I have been using a mandrel along w/a metal lathe, how much pressure should be placed on the mandrel by the tailstock? I believe my problem lies here? Thanks again for all your help.

25. Re: foam cores
It's a tool attached to the lathe, turn on lathe, switch a handle and it automatically cuts the foam as it turns.

26. Re: foam cores
I'm using the lathe to take off the material, I'll have to try again w/a new piece of foam and as i procede w/each step, I'll measure and see where I'm making the mistake. Thanks for your help. Chuck

27. Re: foam cores
Hi tom, totally new to rod building so this is my first time making foam cores, i'm using your method w/the pvc pipe. The end caps where the mandrel fits through is as close to center as i could get it. Before fitting the handle and foam on the blank the two fit fine, when i put the two on the blank that's when the two won't match together. The other thing i noticed is when i shape the grip,

28. foam cores
Having a terrible time getting the foam cores to line up w/the back side of reel seat. When I shape the grip it will not fit nice and flush w/the backside of the reel seat when I
put the foam core and reel seat on the rod blank. Any suggestions? Thanks, Chuck Gray
