I just finished one for a guy to fish for river smallmouth bass in North Carolina. He absolutely loved it. I’ve built on about every bushido blank and everyone of them have a purpose. This a smallmouth bass blank to the T. I used the CCT apex reel seat and pentalite titanium guides. Rod was total weight of 3.2oz and that was with a smaller decorative wrap and a smallmouth decal.

The grips are very cool new modern look. Super light and make the rod even more sensitive then before. Definitely a must have in the custom rod builders arsenal. Use it with the new CCT100% carbon reel seats from American Tackle and you have the most advanced rod on the market.

The picture you have is correct. What do you think is happening to the kr series if you slowed it down. The guides are both over run by line because of the slinky effect. With many folks building on the mw’s I think it’s been a winner on many levels. Just look at all the awards they have won with them over the years. Like many things let the work talk for you and they definitely have done

I have built with both the Fuji k series layout and the Microwave guide system from American Tackle. Both work. As having a layout that is simple the Microwave is the best and easiest. The Layout for any other guide brand is time consuming and no gain in distance nor accuracy. Every reel is different so each time you go to lay out guides you will have to do a set up for that particular reel. With

I have the nova comet 2. I will say that it’s the best for the money. Variable speed and I’ve turn everything from fly grips to offshore grips on it.

What reel and what size reel are you going to put on it? What type of line are you going to use? Braid or mono? I like the grips to be small on the butt section to keep it light and not so bulky. I use the heat shrink from a few of the rod component companies.

Check before ordering from anglers roost seeing that Johnny the owner passed away. I would go with anglers workshop’s blank. CS673 This is a 6’7” 3 wt. anglers workshop is absolutely a great company to deal with.

I’ll have to agree billy. This is the best year I’ve ever had at the icrbe. Absolutely the funniest times and productive in learning from everyone. I absolutely loved meeting everyone that came this year. A lot of new faces at the show and banquet. Between the nerbs, southern rod builders and others we have become friends with many people on social media of Facebook and to get to meet some new p

13. Re: St Croix??
That stinks that their blanks are going away. Haven’t built on a st Croix in years though. Since Bushido blanks introduction I haven’t had to try any others because of the quality and variety of choices.

Norm if that was true then why don’t we just start making them out of hot roll mild steel........

All I use are microwave guide system. The advantages I have found are casting efficiency. The cast is so smooth and sleek and eliminates wind knots. Another advantage is how much more accurate your cast will be. The line doesn’t feel like it’s coming off a thrashing machine like you will feel with other guide styles and set ups. But the two top advantages are how much lighter they are and the q

I've been trying to get them as well for repairs. Even call Abu Garcia about the matter. Was told they have none in stock for sale and are being made exclusively just for Abu. Good luck hope you find the Chinese manufacturer that makes these though.

The bushido's blanks IMO are the straightest blanks on the market. I've built on MHX for awhile. After I went through some breakage issues I went away from them. The last few MHX blanks I built on where very crooked. Couldn't find a straight axis. I'm now at the point if a customer requests a MHX I will try to get them to go with Bushido. If they insist on MHX I will deny to build for a them. Wil

I myself use nothing but virtus lites guides on all my conventional Rod setups. You can go with the titanium guides but will say that the stainless that American tackle have is far superior than anyone else's on the market. I have two rods that I have not washed off trying to get them to tarnish or rust and not a single spec. I use 16mm runners for the knots and sea weed. Many think it's to big

Microwaves will come with the guide spacing from the reel for the first 3 guides. After that set the runners for what the blank needs and do static test to make sure of savings. After that you will have the best guides money can buy. Enjoy.
