Hi all, does anyone know where I can get dental rubber bands? I use them for holding my guides in place, but since I only build a few rods per year, I don't need huge quantities. thanks for any information. Jim Re: dental rubber bands

i had the same problem that you have and went a different route. i build fly rods so i do not need big rubber bands. i bought rubber tubing from Clemons in two different sizes and cut them in small pieces. that way i can use the smallest for the top sections and switch to the next size for the lower sections. i did not answer your question but it may be an alternative. tom drury Re: dental rubber bands

Chase down a kid wearing braces. They can give you what you need since they get free replacements. I really like these things. Re: dental rubber bands

The tiny rubber bands work great for placing the guides on the blank. Just put it over the ring, wrap it around the blank a time or two & secure over the ring again. Then any adjustments are easy to make. When you have wrapped over part of the foot just touch the rubber band with a razor blade and it pops off. Almost as good as a third hand! We have found a source for these and will soon have them, in assorted sizes available for sale at Summer Moon. Re: dental rubber bands
