A while back someone was mentioning they wrapped their underwraps with Sulkey mettalic thread. I have found this brand in a sewing store and have decided to give it a try. Has anyone used this brand and do you need to use CP on the mettalic? Or should I stick with Guedbro?

I posted a long thread when I found sulky thread at a fabric store.

IMHO I think the sulky metalics are nicer than gudebrod. many folks on this and other boards complain about HT metalic comming apart.

The sulky "original metalic" thread is a smaller diameter and much more durable than Gudebrod. Lets face it the sulky thread is designed to be punched through fabric by machine at very high speed with no ill effect !! (sulky thread is well known as a quality embroidery product)

Ive used it for trim bands and Im a newbie builder. I have also used the regular sulky 40 rayon thread for wraps with good results. several of the full time custom builders e mailed me when I first inquired about sulky and said they have been using sulky thread for wraps for quite some time with no problems .

Also with 337 standard colors and 20 some odd "original metalics" you can match almost anything.

As for CP I dont belive its nessesary on the sulky metalics as the metalic film is mylar .

Hope this helps Happy wrapping "John"
