Anyone know were I can find the hard EVA butt caps that I see on the end of some cork handles. And, I have purchased some pre made butt grips with these butt caps but am having trouble chucking them up in my homemade rod lathe. I have installed one on a blank but would like to do some more shaping. Any suggestions? Re: EVA Butt Caps?

Angler's Workshop has then, as does Merrick. You could also buy EVA squares (2x2x18") and make a bunch on your own. Re: EVA Butt Caps?

You could make your own colored cork rings and glue them on as butt caps. Re: EVA Butt Caps?

I have done one from a square grip piece and bored a small hole the size of a small 6 inch mandrel . chucked the end of the mandrel in my rod lathe and shaped. Don't bore the hole all the way throught, just half way. Use a tool rest and wood lathe chisels. Re: EVA Butt Caps?

Batson Enterprises carries them. Contact your nearest distributor. They just came into stock yesterday. They are a very popular item. Bill Batson Re: EVA Butt Caps?

Randy, For your EVA Butt caps you can make them on your rod lathe if you chuck them on a mandrel. I make my customgripII butt caps that way. I glue them up to the grip before turning & turn the whole grip & buttcap in one piece. If you put a trim band between the grip & butt cap it looks neater, & the joints are perfect done that way. I just make up a foam plug to fill the mandrel hole once the grip is on the rod. I have some pictures on the photo page. Try a search under Calgary Flames grip. Best of luck, Mike Crichton Re: EVA Butt Caps?
