I've built a couple of IM-6 fly rods from different manufactures and like them both quite well. As I visit more sites and look at more catalogs I see a variety of desctriptions for IM6 rods. That begs the question, is IM6 IM6 or is there bad, good, better, and best and in fact IM6 is not of any "standard". That's the deal? Thkx

IM6 is just a graphite material used to build rods. Sort of like using Oak to build furniture. One guy can use it to make an heirloom another guy can use it to make a yard sale item. How you use it is what's important. Some makers use it to great advantage, others may not.
