lots of the rods I fished were a yellow-golden color, were those fiberglass (circa 1960)? Does someone still make blanks like those?

I believe Lamiglas still makes some glass blanks in that color.

Lamiglas offers e-glass blanks in the "honey" color. Great looking blanks. Fenwick also had blanks in this color too.

Yeah, lamiglas makes the yellow glass blanks. And they are pretty good blanks. A lot better than the heddon egal claw blanks of old.

I built a lamiglas 8' 6 pc fly rod last year. It's one of their yellow fiberglass blanks. My 11 year old liked it so much I'm going to have to build another for myself. I guess years from now he'll be posting to this site say "when I was a kid......"
Try the lamiglas I think you'll like it
