Weaving software?

Since we now have butt wrap software when might we see some weaving software? When you open the program you would see a grid that would be just like graph paper with numbers vertical and horizontal. There you could place an image and size the pattern to the number threads you would like to use to see if that number should be increased or decreased to get the amount of detail you want. Also, be able to change colors of the pattern using a database of gudebrode thread and other brand name thread colors so you could get the color you want. Then after all that print out your pattern with a left list and get at it!! Gee! I wish I was GEEK! Need to watch more TechTV.......lol

Just a thought,
Steve

A rodbuilder from Arizona I think named Jim Lee had a weave program out sometime ago that did sortof what you mentioned. Don't know if its still avail. Cam Clark of Rodcrafters still uses it when they publish a weave in the Rodcrafters Journal. I had the program but it never worked right in my computer and I got a refund. Do all my patterns by hand now.

If I am not mistaken that program ran into the same problem as the wrap program in that it is not compatable with the new computers, maybe once Dave gets all the kinks worked out of visual wrap it could be his next endevour.

I have Jim Lee's program and it works fine in my computer. The only problem I have with it is it's limited to 96 pattern threads and your colors run through the whole pattern or wrap. For silhouettes it's great just limited. I too would like to see some up to date soft ware in this area...Jim Upton

G'day,

I reckon a weaving program with the same viewing technology as VisualWRAP would be pretty cool. It's on my to do list, following more pressing items, such as bug fixes, rod making and fishing!

Regards
Dave

I have an Excel worksheet that does some of what you want for silhouette patterns and letters/numbers. I set it up to assimilate several weave patterns that I was loaned. If you understand Excel it is easy to use. E-mail me direct if you want to try it.
