Finishing question

I did some under wraps on a rod recently and didn't apply my finish right and therefore it footballed. I sanded the finish down level and have wrapped my guides. Now, I sanded the finish with 400 grit then scotch brite. It is smooth but it looks very dull. My question is when I put my final coat of finish on will the dull finish on the underwraps come out clear? Thanks, Steve Re: Finishing question

I am pretty sure it will come out gloss clear. To test it just wet the dull surface you have now. If it goes gloss clear then it should do the same thing with real finish. I have had to sand out mistakes before and once I applied the final coat of finish you could not tell it had been repaired underneath. Good clarity and glossy.
