Plastic Sleeve for new rod packaging

I am looking for a plastic sleeve that I can buy in bulk for placing my newly wound rods in before delivery. I would think this stuff would come on a roll and you just cut it to length, and either heat seal the ends, or tape the ends over.

Can anyone point me to a vendor of such a product, or a re-seller?

Hi Michael-

Try any packaging supply house, online you might cut and paste the link to U-Line below.

What you need is called Polytubing. You can cut to length and heat seal or staple the ends to close them. Use the 2 or 3 mil on freshwater rods. Heavy saltwater rods with rollers get the thicker packaging.

A new custom rod deserves protection until it is delivered to it's new owner. After that, anything goes!

Hi Michael,

REC Components sells shrink wrap tubing for cork grips. It isn't expensive, and works well to protect cork. Whether you might choose to use it to protect the entire rod or not is up to you. But I can see it working perfectly to protect just the wraps.

Best,
Harry
