Who has Allstar blanks?

Without me going through every site on this board, who carries a good selection of Allstar blanks?

On a different subject, how does the spiral wraps affect casting distance? It seems to me it would reduce it greatly. I've never tried one so i'm guessing. Just thought i'd stir something up here. You guys really seem to like them. Thanks for your thoughts

Jann's Netcraft carries allstar blanks and you are correct spiral
wraps do in deed reduce casting distance . think of the sprial wraps in the same time frame as 70's bell bottom pants hot back then and then bam!!!! look what is back in style ....just my 2 cents worth ....John T Burford aka: Tightline Rod's

Spiral wraps done in at least the O'Quinn method do not reduce casting distance. I can cast just as far if not even a bit farther with this type spiral. I've done a lot of fishing and casting and if this wrap cut my distance I wouldn't use it. Just my .02 worth.

John,
A good modern spiral wrap design should not necessarily impede casting distance. What I feel with the better materials and configuration with the spiral is really just better modifications that were not much thought about before, ...but now with good information and trial and error. I would also advocate the use of smooth ring guides that are properly spiraled with the right number of guides that also afford the best direct line path without 'impedence' that in older ideas about the spiral wrap intended more that the rod be used for trolling and less for casting. You can do a good spiral that can actually be at least as good or better than a conventional rod for longer casting distance than you might expect. Like William mentions, I also can cast my spiral wrap rods as far or further than the rods with conventional guide placement on the 0 axis.

Steve, check out the guys at Last Cast Inc. You can find their link in the sponsors list on this site. They carry a full line of Breakaway blanks. Great fishing! Kevin
