I wanted to play with some temporary reelseat/handle combinations while I do some experimenting. Could I use the same heat-reversible glue for this as sold to attach tip tops? Does anybody have a method for mocking up rods for testing? Re: Temporary mountings

Usually just shim my parts snugly with the use of masking tape. When done, slide thing apart and unwrap the tape. I suppose hot melt glue would work, but wonder if it's not overkill for a simple mock-up. ............. Re: Temporary mountings

I should clarify: I want to mock it up to actually cast with it. Re: Temporary mountings

I always set up the rod I am building before I bring out the adhesives. I have found the Fuji plate type reel seat to work well for me. It just tapes on with electrical tape and is easy to move around inorder to find the proper reel seat position. Its also has a rubber base that prevents scratching the rod. Most of the sponsors at left should carry it, its cheap too. Re: Temporary mountings

I use blue tape, and you can cast and do static tests that way. TH Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
