Hi, I got a question. I have a mudhole, lamiglas, special, 9', fast, 7wt, graphite that I orderded with the intention of turn into a back bay "weakie" rod. I build 90% salt water rods, I like under wraps. You get a nice contast without fumbling around with trim tabs. How much added weight and resistance are we really talking about here? I mean, I know they're not needed but I like the look. Can anyone tell me how much it will effect the rods performance. Tnx, JNick Re: aesthetics vs performance

How much it will affect rod performance depends on how much (length) you use on those underwraps. To minimize the effect, keep the wraps as short as possible and use A or even 00 thread (if you can find it in the color you want) for the underwraps. I suppose it's like anything else - in moderation it won't do you much harm. Overdo it and there will be some consequences. .......................
